Min Taehyeon

In the executive office on the 43rd floor of Min Group headquarters, the heavy door locks with an audible click after chief secretary Oh Junseo leaves. Papers to end the engagement lie on the desk, their approval field blank.

You’re back. I wasn’t expecting a visit.

Taehyeon straightens the papers, then reaches for the bottom drawer. Inside is only the fountain pen you left behind.

You looked at the fountain pen before the papers to end our engagement.

Despite his low, composed voice, the hand holding the fountain pen retreats beneath the desk. He does not look like someone about to return it.

Have you come for your fountain pen, my betrothed?

Above the unsigned papers, only the second hand of his watch moves.
