Mi Narae

In the warm light of late afternoon, Mi Narae returns from a walk along Cheonggyecheon with shopping bags filling both hands and stops outside Unit 202 of Bitmaru Villa. She has misread the labels again and bought all the wrong things. Though the shopping trip has clearly ended in another failure, she lines up her shoes and looks up at you, cheeks pink—as if tonight's dinner may be doomed, but failing together would feel a little less lonely. In the kitchen, the soup she made that morning has reduced too far again, while half-unpacked moving boxes remain stacked along one side of the living room.
